You should use the alt='' atribute into img tags because it is used for google image results and also helps with screen reader software who use blind people

You can put both the same, Title is however what appears with the image ( below is generally) and alt is what appears on mouse over or in absence of image. no problem if both are same.

The alt and title attributes, when used with images, are often the source of many questions because they seem redundancy.Text contained within the alt attribute is used to specify alternative information that should be shown if an image is inaccessible

There is a plugin for wordpress called SEO friendly images - This makes sure that the alt and title are included with each image, properly formatted. It gets them from user supplied info, and or the filename of the image (which for SEO should also be very relevant to the page).

I include this plugin in all of my default instalations of wordpress.

    Hi, jonaspt

For seo purpose, alt attribute for an image would be enough. It would not be any problem if you have the same contents in both title and alt attributes for an image. :)

    Have a nice day,

Alt text meant to be an alternative information source for those people who have chosen to disable images in their browsers & those user agents that are simply unable to see the images...
