alright, what the heck is joomla?

i have heard a lot about this, but what exactly is it? i use dreamweaver cs4 and was told to use joomla to "keep track of content"..? i dont get what exactly joomla does..

 

Joomla is a PHP script. A Content Management Script. It helps you "keep track of content"

You don't need dream weaver to use Joomla. Joomla is a content management system so you can just install it on server and have your site ready n running in minutes(you have to put your content ofcourse).

Using different modules and components you can use Joomla to create different type of sites.
For example Joomla can be used for

#ETC ETC.......

You don't need to learn or write a single line of code to use JOOMLA.

is it search engine friendly?

do i have the ability to place my content wherever i want? or is it like a word document?

how do i get my files from dreamweaver on there, and how do i transfer them back?

 

I have a site in Joomla 1.5 let me tell you it is better than wordpress.
Plus all my articles are indexed on Google. It is search engine super friendly
More than half% of my traffic is coming from Google man I just love it.
Worpress has its limitations. Joomla creates websites with that professional touch that everybody is looking for.
