    Hi guys,

I just noticed my blog was getting hit from this website http://alphainventions.com/

Now I don't mind getting hits but I don't know if it's a good thing or not. Usually when something doesn't look legit it's usually harmful.

Can this lower my page rank? Can Google ads ban me?

Google isn't going to ban you for anything that someone else did (based on what I have seen). If you are really concerned, tell Google about it. A lot of times these hits will be scraping content. You might look and see what they are doing on their website to determine if it will be harmful or not, if you see nothing suspicious, I wouldn't worry about it.

Yea the issue here is that if Google pans you for incoming links then surely you could just spam links at your competitors and taking them out of the competition. Google won't pan you for it (if they are 1 way links) but they won't help either (unless he actually likes the content and is linking to you naturally).

Google does pan link exchanges though, or any links that look bought.

There is a thread going here that you should read.

No problem, another thing to add is that sometimes these routine hits can cause them to eat a lot of bandwidth up. Just be sure your website isn't being slowed down or resources are being eaten up. Big sites will normally ban such users for this reason. But if you aren't having other problems, I wouldn't be too concerned about it. :)
