I have a website that has almost the same name as another website. The only difference is at the end of his first word he added a 's'. He registered his domain a few months before I did (I should of check for that). Can any he take legal action against me? I would hate to build it up and then have to take it down.
Which makes me wish I'd trademarked my site. I'm in the opposite situation. A couple months after I started my site, another site started up, but with an 's' on their second word. Get hits from them lol. But yeah, from what I looked into it, there was nothing I could do about it as I hadn't trademarked it. I don't know how easy it is to find if something's trademarked or not though, sorry. (Although if anyone else does I'd be happy to know )
As far as I know trademark rules are only for .com and national extensions: so .net, .biz, .org, .info... - you can obtain any trademark domain in these extensions.
