Almost 80% Of Traffic From Google!

I have heard many people saying that google PR doesn't matter for driving massive traffic to your site, however recently i tracked some sites they were getting almost 80% of traffic from google or yahoo search engines.

So if we don't need PR so how come can our site comes on first page on google for our desire keywords and get those massive traffic. Offcourse our site should be PR6 or PR7 in order to get on google first page.

On the other hand there are millions of site all of them are not on google first page even so they have massive traffic i have seen some sites have about hundreds and thousands daily visitors but i can not find them on search engines 50th or 100th pages.

They might be using google Adwords or might be paying for the traffic on other ways.

Bottom Line: Is it possible to get thousands of visitors without having good PR and not pay for traffic adwords etc.

OR PR is must for getting those 80% Traffic to our site.

Share your experiences and views... Thank you

google PR and traffic have no relation. Also PR have no roll for site to come first on google and other search engines. Top position in the search engines depends upon the backlinks of the site with the keyword as anchor text. PR also depends on backlinks

I have a site with Good SERPs and high traffic with no PR. I have a PR4 site with very less traffic and low SERP. The Alexa rank will give the correct information about traffic.

A high PR means that u have quality links pointing to your site, which is why they rank higher
Therefore, the sites with high PR have quality links and that's why they rank high - it's not the number itself

Using PR is only one method of gaining traffic. There are multiple approaches to take. Think of those shock sites you have seen, they don't have PR. They have huge traffic because one person see its then sends it to his friend and it keeps spreading. Doesn't cost anything to market that way, but you need the ultimate content.

Who said? The Search Engine rankings doesn't depend on PR. I see daily so many sites(with less PR) that are ranking well on first page for good keywords.
    Content is important than PR.

You don't need pagerank to rank for a given keyword, I have some very valuable keywords 1st page with PR 1-2 sites.

agreed, mine is lower than the other but managed to rank high than them in certain keywords. I don't think PR has 'bonds' with your search engine ranking.

Right now one of my high traffic websites is getting around 78% of search engine traffic from Google with yahoo coming in second and MSN pretty much non-existent.

I second it. Google PR is a key criteria for search engines to weigh the website. But one can also receive decent traffic with a new site through ways like article marketing and forum marketing.

hehe why do they own you, budin? Search engine traffic is highly overrated anyway. But I'm just curious on what you meant.

Go look up "post hoc ergo propter hoc". Just because two events occur at the same point in time doesn't mean they are related.
Otherwise you can say "I received a lot of spam today because the weather was bad".

And? They have DIVERSIFIED. What happens when you receive 100% of your traffic through Google, they change their algorithms a bit and boom, you're gone? Your business DIES. I can't believe how difficult it is to apply some fucking common sense logic these days.

Who says they are PAYING for the traffic at all? This sentence alone tells me how little you know, yet you are making these bold statements without being able to back them up.

Is that a question or a statement?

Is that supposed to make sense? You need high PR to get 80% of your traffic from Google? Just neglect all other sources of traffic and tada, you're getting 100% of your traffic from them.

A high PR means you are getting lots of links. Period. IT DOESN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE QUALITY. Your mortgage site might as well be getting millions of links from Britney Spears fansites, which would get you a high PR but which wouldn't help you at all with rankings since those links are off-topic.

What does PR have to do with TRAFFIC? Oh right, nothing.

    No, it's a USELESS criterion.

Look at JohnChow. com you would think that his PR would be awfully high. Do to his popularity. However his PR is 3 and he was making $40k a month at last look.

    He is, or, was.

Yet another example on why one doesn't need search engines. But he has never made $40,000, though.
