It's almost 1-year since HipTechBlog.com has been up and running. And during this 1 year, the number of indexed pages has always been low. During the past few months, I noticed that it has always been stucked at around 300'ish indexed pages. But this morning when I checked and to my surprise, the number has dropped to a low 138. Could anyone advice me on what's wrong with the site?
Well, you could've just PM'ed me. Anyway, this one: http://www.arnebrachhold.de/2005/06/05/google-sitemaps-generator-v2-final
Something happened on July 27th, the site: command on some d/c's show lower numbers, but a more proper ordering of the pages (the home page shown first). I am hoping this thread is about fix coming through... As far as getting more indexing once things shake out, you should do a mod_rewrite 301 redirect from the non-www to www versions of your page. You have a PR 1 without, PR 5 with the www.
Thanks for pointing out the thread! Looks like it could be due to that. But still, the 300'ish before this issue was still pretty low. Thanks as well for pointing out the non-www issue! Looks like it should help some.
I wouldnt worry to much about it as sometimes the number of indexed pages on your site changes time though time... I would just let it sit and see what happens from there...
