Allowing <code> tags in Wordpress comments

    I need to allow my site's visitors to post code in their comments by using <pre><code>CODE HERE</code</pre>. But that doesn't seem to work, even though the <code> tag is in the "allowed tags" list.

    Any idea what might be wrong or how i can fix this?

    Yup, found nothing relevant. I asked here because i thought someone might have already went through this.
