    Well, I came across this mod in VB (but this isn't anything related to VB specifically). Anyhow this mod basically checks the user agent and lets bot access member only pages.

    Sounds too risky to me. Not something I'd try but...has anyone tried either this mod or anything similar? Left me thinking especially after seeing this thread from a while back.

    IMO it's basically cloaking...but, what do you think?

    Personally I hate it when I search for something and click on the link only to find it's a member's only site, such as WebMasterWorld. I suppose it gets them new members, which is their purpose.
