I have a suggestion I think might help a lot of the 'WHY DID I GET AN INFRACTION?!' posts.. I think that when a moderator / admin gives someone an infraction and deletes their post, the post should be 'soft-deleted' for 7 days or so before being totally deleted (automatically). During this time, the user should be allowed to see the soft-deleted post that got them the infraction (by clicking on the link in the email, and/or by clicking on the infraction notice in their User CP). I am sure this could be done, and I really do think it'd stop a lot of unnecessary questions as to which post got someone an infraction and/or why.. Chuckun
Eeek my bad.. Ok in that case there's something really wrong with all these people. Indeed xD Sorry for the dead-end thread! I thought I might actually have an answer to stopping most of the pointless threads >.<
Sometimes, people don't know about the email. When I joined, I made one of those "Pm me with details" Post and got infraction for it about a month later. But the mail went straight to my Junk Folder. So being completely clueless, I made a thread asking why I got the infraction.. Then someone pointed out that I should have gotten the email, and then I checked my junk folder and found it there.. So I suggest add a line "Please check your email for details" where it gives the reason for infraction (In user control Panel AKA settings panel) Or better yet, send user a Private message with the same content. It will be really hard to miss a PM.
