Allinanchor questions, can you help?

I am confused about allinanchor. We are working two websites that have the same products. The reason for this, is that there will only be one site in the future but don't want to loose serps until the new one has populated google properly.

    Anyway, while doing:
"allinanchor:OldSiteA Keyword Phrase", OldSiteA is listed on page 4
"allinanchor:NewSiteB Keyword Phrase", NewSiteB is lised on page 2

    Here's where it gets weird
"site:OldSiteA keyword phrase", shows 6 entries with relevant keyword phrase in the title
"site:NewSiteB keyword phrase", only shows 1 entry for keyword phrase, the rest is supplemental junk

How can allinanchor for NewSiteB outrank OldSiteA. OldSiteA also has a higher PR and many more backlinks.

    Any thoughts?

The Google allinanchor command finds pages that have the keywords
somewhere in the links to the page.

A sample Google allinanchor command would look like this:

    allinanchor:best site of the month

To better understand the Google allinanchor command, you need to
    understand what anchor text is.

Anchor text is the text within links pointing to a page.

In the following example HTML link, the anchor text is "Best Site of the Month":

    <a href="http://www.Mysite.com">Best Site of the month</a>

Optimizing anchor text is critical to good search engine positioning
    in Google.

I follow the logic of how anchor text works but this doesn't explain the results I see. I don't think you understood the question. Let's use your post as an example

Two websites with the following links on various pages.
    <a href="http://www.Mysite#1.com">Best Site of the month</a>
    <a href="http://www.Yoursite#2.com">Best Site of the month</a>

Both have use the same anchor text. "Allinanchor:Best Site of the month" shows Mysite#1 listed on page 1 and Yoursite#2 shows up on page 5 of google.

That said when you search google via
site:Mysite#1.com Best Site of the month
(shows up with 1 result in the index)

site:Yoursite#2.com Best Site of the month
(show up with 10 results in the index)

How can the one with LESS pages indexed using this anchor text out rank the one with MORE pages indexed using the anchor text? Plus the one with Less has a lower PR. Can you explain this?

I understand your question now sorry! I would take a guess is all the other factors that come in. I was third on search results with a brand new site for my keywords and possibly three incoming links only when I placed the website earlier this month. Somehow Google understood that my website had better content than all the others. The website is a niche collectibles website. MSN reacted the same way. My guess MSN also partly edit by hand as they picked a description that matches the second paragraph. My suggestion explore Mysite#1 have the got any advantage over you?
