Allianz are stalling on payout for WTC complex.

This one is interesting and no surprise.

OK, let us forget that Silverstein purchased the entire WTC complex just 6 months prior to the 9/11 attacks, let us forget he changed the company responsible for the security of the complex to George W. Bush's brother, Marvin Bush, who was on its board of directors of Securacom (now Stratasec), and Marvin’s cousin, Wirt Walker III, was its CEO. OK forget all that.

Let us also forget Mr. Silversten, who made a down-payment of $124 million on this $3.2 billion complex, promptly insured it for $7 Billion.

Let us forget that the towers required some $200 million in renovations and improvements, most of which related to removal and replacement of building materials declared to be health hazards in the years since the towers were built.

These are just mere coincidences.

Another thing to consider is the projected cost to disassemble the towers: $15 Billion. Just the scaffolding for the operation was estimated at $2.4 Billion!


Well anyway, Larry is not happy God Dammit!

He has already been paid by insurance company, Swiss Re the sum of $877 million but them bloody Germans are stalling:

Allianz said Monday that it has already paid almost $550 million to the Port Authority and Silverstein.

Looks like they are refusing to pay any more, but what with Larry putting in only $124 Million and the problems with the complex I think he has done very nicely out of it thank you very much.
