That's a great article, the one by Thomas Greene in The Register. That was the one that set me off about the chemistry. I figured if the security angle was fishy and the chemistry angle was fishy too, maybe I should start digging... I can tell you more about what I found if anybody's interested. And I meany "anybody". here's the thing ... I never said they were innocent. maybe they were plotting and maybe they weren't -- we don't know yet. but there was certainly a security clampdown, you can't deny that there's still a tight set of restrictions on what you can take on a plane, can you? and when i say it doesn't matter if they were plotting, I mean in the sense that the news and the yobs all have them guilty, and the security measures have already been put in place ... in other words, the police state stuff you're sneering at me for mentioning has already happened!! Everybody can agree that if all these changes have made us safer then it's probably a good thing we've made them. But that's a big IF. If we've made all these changes in response to a threat that didn't exist, then what?

In the midst of unprecedented terrorist plots, and in light of successful terror events like 7/7, security clampdown is a good thing. There is a huge problem in the UK and the links above confirm this. That's just a handfull of the hundred or so I have on the UK from the last year alone. They deserve, at best, their day in court. If they are guilty, like others have been, "off with their heads" so to speak. If, they are proven innocent, then set them free. Someone please tell me that is not irrational?
