I am a successful SEO provider, this statement is based on results not my ego. I decided a few years ago that I would like to work in the optimisation sector, however rather than rushing into the game, I decided the first thing I had to do was work on my own site. If I could not get my own site onto page 1 of google for a very competitive phrase, should I really be offering my services to the general public? It took 6 months to complete this task.

Since then I have been providing low cost optimisation services, all of my clients sites have risen well in the rankings. I have accomplished this by follow rules laid out by Dan. All I will add is I do not dismiss anything, because of its perceived importance. I cover all aspects with the same enthusiasm.

It does make a change to read a thread that offer good sound advise, well done Dan.

Thank you very much for these SEO tips. I have just a question: What is the relation between PR and search engine ranking I saw many sites with low PR or PR0 and are in top 10 in serach engines.

Most of the sites are probably new and haven't been ranked propely yet. Others will probably just contain a lot of quality content and will have otherwise been optimized properly but are mostly "undiscovered". Not only that, but the data reported in PageRank toolbars (and sites such as www.digpagerank.com for that matter) is stale, sometimes 3-4 months old. The current PR (which is constantly updated) is kept a closely guarded secret by Google and IS factored into the ranking formula, but again, those who know (read: Google's employees) how it works aren't talking. A good analogy to how the PR toolbars work would be like looking at light from a star (or galaxy) that's far away from us (relatively speaking). Say for example you're looking at a star that's a million light-years away. The light you're seeing is 1,000,000 years old, and shows what happened in that part of the universe back then (not what's happening now). The same thing is true of the PR toolbar data.

And even then they don't always tell you everything (just enough to keep you reliant on them).

 

I concur with genius I offend see this allot on the web especially ion Google ranks I have a domain called joinganoexcel.com it ranks on the 1st page of Google fot the key words "gano excel" it is only a redirect" I wonder how could this happen "" is it about relevancy Dan??

Well, I'm not Dan, but if you can't rank for a successful keyword nor competitive keyword, then why should you be offering your services to the public? How many months are you giving them to rank for a keyword?

How many months did you spend building links, and optimizing your site?
