So last night, I started another campaign on one of my sites... Today I earned $1.56 from it so far in adsense.... BUT on the other hand, I put out $21.04 in adwords.... Does everyone lose like this at the start? Instead of having about 20+ keywords, should I filter down to just a few? I am looking for traffic mostly.. Clicks: 103 Impressions: 6,534 I guess I will have to call the hummer dealership and request they wait a few extra days for me Suggestions? (besides to not quit my day job)
To keep the costs down on Adwords don't make generic keywords, keep them very tight to the product you are trying to promote ..... ie you wouldn't have the keyword "Loans" if you were targeting "bad credit loans" you would receive way too many clicks from people looking for Loans in general. If you are using Adwords just to make money from Adsense then forget it, it just isn't profitable anymore .
Thanks Mostly looking for traffic to help the site take off better, making money from adsense is a bonus
I'm having the same problems in driving Adwords users to my Adsense ads. Google makes me nervous--they have too many safeguards to make sure we don't make too much money. However, I still haven't lost any money when sending Yahoo Search users to my Adsense ads. Not that it's a huge profit, but a profit is a profit. It's always nicer to see black figures in my daily spreadsheet than red figures.
It is EXTREMELY tough to make money in AdSense by using AdWords. You might win a few battles, but you will lose far more. I tried to make some dough with AdWords promoting Firefox downloads to the US only. I lost about $5.00 a day on $50 of revenue. You would be berret off using AdSense to push people to an affiliate page where you are paid per conversion.
It was a small investment as I bought a $125 coupon/account for $27. I guess its trial by error.. so far I found the error part
