I too have the same problem and have been searching for the answer for about 2 weeks now. I am a noob when comes to wordpress so I thought it must have been me..lol. I even whet to wordpress forums first for help ..well the that was a complete waste of time. All I got was useless answer that had nothing to do about the problem or how to fix it! Since I have reinstalling and trying different themes and the same thing happens. I thought maybe it was theme compatibility or the theme it self. So I am curious as to why that it is and glad it's not just me ..lol Oh and the pluggins do not show up in my admin panal either after iI upload them.

Not sure what you mean ....internal ads?? No Its a proper hosting company, at least I don't think it does. That would cause that though.....hhmmmm. Have to check that. It uses Plesk with cpanal.

How do you upload them? FTP client? Chances are that it is being uploaded as an ASCII file. Instead, choose to transfer at binary.

As it also seems to break plugins, you might have a problem with path references ?

Wordpress reads the directory /wp-plugins (the plugin data isn't stored in a database). If you have a problem with path references on the server it cannot access the directory. That might also cause problems with css and javascript references.

I am using coreftp, uploading to the content/themes for themes and pluggins for pluggins. How would I transfer at binary?
