I would like to hear your opinions about those millions threads that say "Buy Traffic." How does that work? Are there people sitting and submitting your website to social networking sites based on your niche? Is it something that we should believe in?
I am curious about this too how do you buy traffic? is it paying someone to post your articles or website links on different sites and such?
In my experience, most of the traffic selling services will do provide you a traffic. However, in most of those good cases, the traffic will be of a desperately low quality with a bounce rate coming to 99% (due to the fact the traffic is mostly non-targeted). Getting targeted traffic, like you have from Google on your keywords, is very tough and expensive. So before you order some traffic, ask what are the traffic sources.
Actually buy traffic is not submitting to SN website. They more to PTC traffic which is completely unhealthy for a site.
What type of product or service are you selling? I agree with GeorgeKuipers and Mentos, you should really do your homework before making any decision on buying traffic.
They say "buy" traffic because it works! Paid traffic is the fastest way to bring targeted visitors to your site, no doubt.
Depends on what your site is about and, ultimately, what you want to do with that traffic. Drive paid targeted traffic to a page that brings you $5.00 per action and you have a 10% conversion rate, or drive junk visitors to a page where you get $0.20 per click and the clickthrough rate is 1% or less. Ball's in your court.
What you described is buying links, not traffic. No one can guarantee you will get X hits from, say, a blogroll link or an article published on EZA. Buying traffic is the kind of deal where you pay $x for any hit you get.
It works perfectly, just as long as you have part of your income from the business invested in buying more advertising. It's much faster and more consistent than building free traffic streams, but you have to work on conversions it doesn't make sense to continue it.
Paid traffic will never convert. Marketed traffic and niche traffic that come from a legit source will gain you a higher CR %.
Paying for traffic can be defined as throwing crap on the wall or it can be defined as buying distribution. Two entirely different animals. Paid distribution is what you find in Google's Adwords and other PPC providers. Banner ads are another example of paid distribution. Paid distribution puts your product advertisement in front of the traffic. Paid traffic is paying vistors to approach your ad. NOT THE SAME. It's crap. Worthless scams. If you paid people to flip tv channels it has the same value.
