All the scam “pm me” threads

I keep seeing threads that are very shady in character where the OP will leave out info and refuse to give important info and just say “I will pm you details” every time someone asks.
Then the whole thread will be full of “pm me more info” so the tread stays on the first page for days and is just full of garbage.

I think it is BS for a number of reasons.

1: it is deceptive to leave out info, epically websites from public view to get inexperienced people in the shadows to get ripped off.

2: It keeps garbage threads on the first page for days on end with no info just “pm me”

3: when someone sells something legitimate they fall of the fist page in hours because they get bumped down but the “pm me” threads.

Just seems like something that is really lowering the quality of this forum and could be fixed easily by not letting people sell things without making the info public such as website urls or answering questions in the open.

 

Search before posting. New rules and 7-day bans for such things are already in place. If they intentionally choose to leave any info out, they're required to take those questions via PM and not in the thread. If you see posts that break the rules, don't start threads about it - use the report post function made available to you. There are also very valid reasons for not wanting some information public (like niche info, domains, and site stats that might encourage copycats when you're trying to sell a successful site).

 

I love how people have to call attention to themselves....dude, multiple accounts are not allowed here.
