They may be able to go after US based vendors and affiliates. Can the ones based outside the US be affected by this?
hmm.. it's true that they can go after you wherever you are. But I guess it really depends how much loss did you cause to them.. if not much, i guess they won't waste money on lawsuit.
I guess it pretty much depends where you're from. I highly doubt the fact that the Chinese government (for example) would turn anyone over to the americans (unless they plan to execute you themselves LOL ... but since you've hurt american companies they might even give you a prize or something ha ha).
Tony Sanders is Asian? Huh? Doesn't sound like an Asian last name to me, unless he's a halfie. Or maybe it's a fake name. Let's just wait for him to post here..
hey guys. i see plenty of comments here... not going to comment on any, but well, id love to hear the conspiracy theories on tony sanders being an asian
This thread just gets better and better. BTW Tony...I've dealt with a number of CB vendors, there are many, many, many people with white names - who mysteriously have all Asian names when they email their affiliates. My experiences, and obviously others who have posted in this thread leads people to believe many CB vendors are Asian. I'm quite offended by the people making a joke about those residing outside the US being exempt from our laws. I hope none of you who are laughing when making those comments, are related to any of the threads crying about India, their issues with paypal, or trouble getting on with affiliates - because taking advantage and hiding behind borders will affect more than just one person in the end - now thousands of people who worked very hard, for the little they got paid are still struggling and waiting; because of people who thought they couldn't be touched.
The problem i see is that unless they are using patented material they don't have much to stand on. Farmville and Mafia Wars is about as generic as it gets and is probably not able to be trademarked. There is at least one town named farmville so there is no way they could trademark that, and mafia wars well you know that's rather generic. If their shlepping actual patented material that's one thing, but I doubt this case has any legs. Anyone with 50 bucks and a pen can file a lawsuit.
Wrong again. http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4005:mkb3oa.2.2 http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4005:mkb3oa.4.1
If farmville and mafia wars are not trademark in their country (vendor and affiliate) than they are safe. You know dlm usa<>world. As an example i can make how many domains i want with farmville and mafia wars ending in ro and dont give a shit about zynga or their lawsuits.
if i'm not wrong mafia wars by zynga is not the original creator of this game.. they also copied from someone else
What part do you not understand? The only one embarrassing themselves in this thread is you with your all knowing attitude. They are not selling the game they are selling a guide of information about a game. There are thousands of such guides, and it's not infringement. Obviously if they are using the exact logo or patented material than that is another story as I stated. Nothing worse than some wannabe legal scholar trolling the internet.
First off, learn the difference between a patent and a trademark. Second, I'm not sure why you are disagreeing with me. Those websites WERE using the exact logo (and trademarked name), which is why they are in serious danger.
