A strange thing happened this afteroon, something that I guess must have been happening for a while. I get no sponsored results appearing when I search in firefox. Not even on popular terms such as 'new bank account'. However, when I check IE or other browsers, the adverts are there. The adverts aren't even in the source code, so google isn't serving me ads at all! I've attached a list of my add-ons, but none are there to block sponsored results: Add-ons: pageaddict permatabs tails view source chart webdeveloper DOM inspector Download Statusbar FireBug Google Toolbar HTML Valiator IE View MeasureIt Any ideas?
A while back (About a month now) Google implemented a change that the sponsored listings ABOVE the search results would not appear if you never clicked them (According to your search history). It was refreshing actually. Are you saying the sponsored listings to the right are no longer appearing?
To the right and to the top. Absolutely nothing! I haven't clicked sponsored results for as long as I can remember, but it's useful for market research... Infact, I just did a little more investigation. When I turn cookies off, they come back again! It seems google has decided I am unworthy of sponsored ads! Very interesting, I didn't think they'd do that.
