Things were going ok. I had great relevant ads on my few sites and was earning a bit of money every day. All of the sudden, a few days ago, I had my lowest earning day EVER in the last 3 years. I made 2 dollars from all of my sites. Only got 20 clicks! I usually get a lot more than that. I didnt change ANYTHING on my sites, they are static sites indexed in google. But now all my ads are irrelevant and nobody clicks anymore. This is a disaster. Why even bother doing adsense or making sites if this is going to happen? What do I do? I cant contact adsense because I cant figure out a way to do it. Has anyone else had irrelevant ads the last few days? Please help me, I am very sad.
Could be several factors, need to see your site to give you more defined answer but could be you are about to be closed down by Google, could be your content and keywording is lacking, could be something extra you posted on your site pages that changed the relevancy to the ads showing... I expect many will come in here and tell you why.. but no one will know for sure without seeing the site(s) in question...
I will be honest, the reason I dont post my sites is because 1. I am a bit embarrassed because of all the people here who have great sites, I am afraid people will make fun. They arent a big deal, just some gaming sites about specific popular games. 2. I have been screwed over, over and over again in the past by people just bored and wanting to ruin me. And I have become paranoid about linking my site directly That is why I cant post my site. I am very sorry, I understand its hard to help when I dont post my site. I was just wondering if anyone here knew some reasons why ads would just go irrelevant all of the sudden without any changes. Thank you for your time, and sorry for not posting my sites
Totally understand but you should never be ashamed of your work, we all have to start somewhere. If you want to pm me your url I will gladly look at it for you and advise you. I have been a successful Adsense publisher for many years now.
By the way.. I am 100% trustworthy. I have my own Adsense sites, over 30 of them so I understand their value. |You can trust me, I am top contributer to the Google Adsense forums.
Every one is new here at the beginning digital08., Even if people criticize you you will learn something there That will help you to avoid those err on the upcoming sites So don't feel ashamed
Digital08, Don't worry about what people say. Everyone has good sites and not-so-good sites. Sometimes the not-so-good sites perform better than the so-called "great" sites. There will always be people who criticize. You don't know them. You don't see them. So why bother? Take what they say in one ear and and let it out the other and forget about it. Just FOCUS on your job at hand ~ whether it is to make money, develop "beautiful" sites, enjoy your family, or have fun, whatever... As for irrelevant ads, and reduced clicks, I encountered that a few days ago where my most productive site suddenly wasn't getting clicks but it seems like things are returning normal for me yesterday and today. So be patient.
I've always had irrelevant ads on one site. CTR has never gone over about 0.2%, the longterm average is 0.1%. And when someone does click, its usually under 5c a click. I have no idea what google *thinks* my site is about, because it is dead wrong. Wish I could tell it what kind of ads I want.
In your case this will more than likely be a lack of decent or relevant content, or a mixture of too many different niches. Again without seeing it I can't say for 100% sure, but I am 99% sure ;-)
It has broad content. But I had similar content on another site in the same niche and was getting $10 a day because google actually gave relevant ads to that site. I suppose I could just lie in the meta keywords or something ... If I can get the traffic up to 40-50k impressions a day I'll probably make a few dollars, so all is not lost.
Yeah there is very little actual text content on each page and some of it fairly mixed so you are not giving Google a chance of picking anything relevant up from it unfortunately. Shame..Nice site
A week after the redirect, Google seems to have decided that the traffic spike is permanent and after years of crap ads, is actually giving me ads that have at least some kind of vague relevance to the site. CTR is up from 0.01 to about 0.2 and rising every day, yay. I've always suspected Google has different levels of ads based on traffic, as the ads have always changed on my other site as my traffic averages have passed certain magic numbers.
If Google favors your site, you get relevant ads. If it does not, your ctr and ecpm drops. Time to do some work and all will be well.
