Have you seen this post by matt cutts regarding the big daddy roll-out? It speaks to pages going supplimental, and dropping out of the index.

    http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/indexing-timeline/

In summary, many sites with link schemes, duplicate content, affiliate sites have been nailed.

"Some folks that were doing a lot of reciprocal links might see less crawling. If your site has very few links where you’d be on the fringe of the crawl, then it’s relatively normal that changes in the crawl may change how much of your site we crawl."

I had a few too small pages go supplimental, along with a companion link directory that existed on my site.

Other than those minor items, I'm still in the index- But traffic has been really off since mid-april.

Random pages drop from the index, and then are picked back up the next day. I'm really frustrated too.

Google sucks. Take my word for it.

And they are trying to cover their problems too. Because the problems EXIST.

I think Google should get rid of all their interns and start hiering some people that really understand SQL queries so we don't have to see all our pages dropped. I have attached a stat just to show that earlier this week I dropped tons of pages and tons of traffic
hmmm.... thought I could attach file... :(

The general consensus is that particular blog post is a smokescreen for flaws in Google's crawling/cacheing/indexing system.
You need to read this thread:

This happened to me about a month ago on one of my sites. All my subdomains got deindexed & had their pagerank wiped. However the main domain kept its PR4.

I just ignored it, because really there's not much you can do. Low & behold a month on and everything is reindexed again & the Page Rank values are as normal again.

Just make sure you have sitemaps submitted to Google, I found that helped my sites with indexing :)
