I hosted a niche website that targets a particular country. The niche is good paying one. Now the website is getting over 25 unique visitor a day and probably 2-5 clicks a day. The click prices are very low than my expectation. I get $0.2 per click, where as I expected around $1 per click. Now, I would like to say to you guys don't let your efforts in optimizing for low paying countries. Get your niche in America, Europe that pays your well. I got $10 last month from this website thought I got around 50 clicks. If I would have got $50 from 50 clicks, spending time to increase the traffic is worth. Now I feel that working on this website is not worthy. Even if I increase the traffic by 10 times I am not gonna cross $100 per month Your thoughts? Shall I shut down this project and move on to next one or should I still try and get the peanuts?!!!
Don't shut down this project, at least it is giving you something, yes it is less than your expectation but it is giving you some money. It is better to move to another project, make sure to do market research before. It happens in business, you try to sell one thing it didn't click, then move on to next one, but don't shut your site till it completely stop giving you profit. Best of Luck for your next project.
Adsense pays well for clicks from certain countries and poorly for others. You might try putting some affiliate products on the current site and see if you can make some money.
yes this is true because 3rd world clicks are low paying. you should target U.S and U.K traffic to earn more..
Well, you can try another project; but who knows, you may face the same scenario like your first project and then you still think to move to another and another ...!! I guess the main point is this; In which area of life you think you're good and have excellent knowledge about it, then try that niche. Now you may think that the area of knowledge you have is not good for adsense and you may not get much !! WRONG! If you have an excellent knowledge of a niche then you should earn; for example if you are good in mobile niches then go ahead and use your knowledge to get traffic but don't start a medical niche just because they paying too much as you don't have any idea how to maintain it in a professional matter therefore you don't get traffic.
specific country? WHat country is that? India? Pakistan? - no high paying keywords in this countries unless you have hundreds of click daily..
Keep working at it. You might as well have good rankings in a small market than suffer to rank in the big market. Better rank = more traffic = more revenue. All the cents count. But if you have not done too much of work on it, then bail out now.
hmmm how can one specify the clicks must generate from particular country? When a site is published in web, its global right?
yeah you are right. One should target niche attracting traffic from US or Europe to earn good in adsense
I'd say its time to do a quick analysis of the income stream. Does the revenue, after taxes pay for the annual domain name reg fees, as well as the proportional amount of your hosting? If so, keep it. If not cut your losses and drop it. Too many people will hold onto a loosing project because of the work they already put into it (a sunk cost) Last month I went through and analyzed all my domains, and their individual income over 2009 and found two that need to be improved (work on until the expire) and if they don't improve, need to be dropped at renewal time.
lol, just start another site and let this site go for now. If its making you $10 a month then thats not bad.
Folks. great replies from nice personalities. I am not sure if this niche will support affiliate marketing. Any ways I will give a shot. Thanks. I am not that expert in that niche. However I have writers who do this job You are right. But I do not want to reveal the country's name. This you will get from Google analytics. Site gets over 95% traffic from a specific country. Dude, I am already in a job. Well, why can't you take this project from me. I will give it to you for free...! Yes, I feel so bad to leave it. Despite the fact that it brings only $10 a month. Correct. I am gonna keep my way on this.
Adsense is not a get rich quick scheme it takes time and dedication, keep working at it I'm sure it will pay off.
