Too me, the biggest difference is in the line of thought.

Here is just one example of a difference between a Dumbocrap and a Republican.

Lets say, a Republican and a Democrat are going to buy a can of Coke from a Coke machine. The can costs 50 cents. The Republican makes more, so he should pay more for the Coke. So the Republican pays $10 for the can of Coke.

The Democrat makes less, so he should pay less than face value. His Coke is subsidized and he only pays 5 cents.

Now when they both buy their Cokes, the Republican ends up paying $10 for a 6 oz can that is half full. The Democrat pays 5 cents and gets a 20 oncer.

The system of logic in the land of the Democrats is retarded.... Make less, get more.. Work harder, get less.. Anyone else see something wrong with this?

Hah, the American stubbornness regarding the use of Imperial measurements amuses me.

I see what you're saying Mia (Amongst the confusion of fluid ounces :/) and I agree. But that's only because I'm extremely laissez-fair.

If a government had to be in place, I would however, like to think it would serve the people only and ensure equality. Therefore, I don't see anything wrong with the less wealth advantaged receiving help. However, direct taxes/prices aren't equal, which gives the left a contradictory belief. Hmm.

But, that's only if having a government was the only option.

The cooptation of "metric" under the name "Imperial" amuses me. Bit of the ole' Disraeli, methinks. (Just kidding, brother).:D

Liberty and equality are inimical to each other. You cannot have both in society, in toto, at the same time. The unfortunate human condition.

Let me make it simpler for everyone. It's called the redistribution of wealth.

Speaking personally, your point was easily understood, Jeremy. In part, why I wrote: liberty and equality are necessarily inimical to each other. Which you value is the battle grounds of politics.

Northpointaiki, that's a very interesting statement you made about Liberty vs Equality.

I'd personally favour complete freedom and fight for equality, than have a government restrict our freedom to create pseudo-equality, and inevitably make a bad job of it.

    Lol were you being sarcastic?

I do like some American aspects, like the Constitution and Bill of rights.

But I don't like Bush's nationalism, the slow erasing of the Constitution and capital punishment.

No, I am dead serious.. We've not had a terrorist attack on our soil since 9/11. Our economy is stronger than it has ever been. Interest rates are still at an all time low, and thanks to Bush tax cuts remaining in affect, those that earn, keep more of what they earn.

Compared to the damage caused by Bill Clinton and the living on borrowed time 90's, we are in pretty good shape, considering what happened to our nation some 6 years ago.

    Nice clean air too...

I see you added this after I responded... Our Constitution still remains.. Nothing has been erased.. Bush has nothing to do with Capital Punishment. This remains something that is up to the individual states and their courts.

Personally, I am not for Capital Punishment...

I didn't add it after you responded.

Bush likes to push the boundaries of the Constitution though, for example the Patriot Act.

Anybody who places faith in ANY politician, regardless of the politician's associations, is completely delusional.

In the United States, there are 2 main parties, who do such a wonderful job of polarizing our country along a handful of hot-button issues, so as to ensure their mutual survival, and total domination by ONLY 2 parties. Anyone who falls outside the political "pail of orthodoxy" is labeled "unelectable", and has no hope of receiving endorsements by anyone. Let's not kid ourselves - there simply cannot be so many people who agree and disagree on *exactly* the same issues, 100% of the time. That's statistically impossible. But they make a good game of it.

This is the dark heart of America; namely, the 2-party political system, and the practice of legalized bribery. (aka, "lobbying")

Actually you did... I quoted your post in its entirety both times... You edited your post.

Really, can you give me an example?

No no Mia, I didn't edit it intentionally after you posted to gain some sort of hindsight advantage. I realised I could have added something else as soon as I posted, then spent like 5 minutes on the edit screen thinking what to write.
