Yahoo and Google are just slower to rank a site but once they rank you, they produce way more traffic than MSN.
I get most of my traffic on most semi new sites from MSN... a new site launched 3 weeks ago has been very hard to get in even in msn... but I guess I just gotta keep at it
msn also dropped all of my rankings yesterday. from nr1 for over 2 weeks to nowhere in the index.. my visitors are now 1/10th what it used to be
My msn rankings have gone away. Really I don't miss them too much, G has always given me 5 times the traffic. Hopefully MSN will return again...
You may find it isn't a permanent drop in rankings. I've experienced the same to have MSN reestablish the same rankings after a day or so.
MSNdude has posted a thread over on WMW for anyone who is interested. He has asked for feedback on MSN SERPs, maybe well worth stickying him if you have any questions.
I think they are applying kind of spam filtering. my site has been affected after buying a site-wide link from ebay. my site was affected only for the keyword that is being used in the anchor text. I don't know how long this will last.
I couldn't agree more. Google results include a lot of national sites when I am looknig for local data and use the local town name. MSN is nearly all relevant local sites.
I am very interested to find out what MSN might call "spam". I am working on a site that just got dumped from MSN for many keywords while at the same time, gained many nice positions in Yahoo. I am still trying to figure out why.
