Many people feel there are both logical and emotional decisions. However this is disproven by the experts. All decisions are made based on what you feel would give you the most pleasure and the least amount of pain. Pleasure and pain are emotions.
Any links to the 'proof'? Personally I base my marketing decisions on a number of things, one of which being the funds that I can invest! The rest is based on a marketing strategy formulated at the start of each quarter, this gives me purpose and direction in my marketing rather than be marketing based on impulse and opportunity.
Personally, my decision come from the budget provided to me. My boss love free stuff (which is very unfortunate for me)
It depends on the market, the product and the context. Some items are definitely bought with emotions and later justified by logic -- but you certainly can't make a blanket statement like that. If what you say were true at all times, then we would ALL give money every time some UNICEF commercial or ad showed us a starving child. Last I checked, many are still starving.
Hi, I tend to think that we have to look at what kind of internet marketing decisions we are making. When it comes to buying things, our emotions could very well take center stage. This is why all the sales pages are built on this principle. But when it comes to selling things, we may be thinking more logically which is why we can understand what are the emotions to invoke in our prospects to close the deal.
I think marketing decisions are based on business intelligence, forecasting, brand value and relationship however emotion intelligence is one of the part of relationship management.
