All indexed pages on site have the same description

Hope somebody can enlighten me on this. I do a search for indexed pages on my site on Google and there are 9,860 results, but only 1 is displayed. When I repeat the search with the omitted results included, it turns out all the pages have the same description, which is what is in my site's meta description, instead of the page content.

Does anybody know the reason for this, and how I could fix this problem?

Just write different description for different pages.

 

That is as simple as that!.

 

But there are thousands of pages, and the content are pulled from the database, so it's probably not possible to write a different description for each page.

 

you need one field from your database for description, make it dynamic

Can someone give an example of how to generate unique decriptions etc in Wordpress. Surely evryone using wordpress must suffer this problem? Or should I just remove site description meta all together?
