just been reading this http://www.labnol.org/internet/blogging/world-most-popular-wordpress-seo-plugin-abandoned/3513/ hopefully someone else will update it in the future
It would be a total disgrace if the project wasn't handed over to someone else. Way too many people rely on it, and if a new WP version clashes with it, there will be a lot of problems!
Dont worry, its already been taken over, it is safely adopted for future development. http://www.madmouse.com/blog/wordpress/wordpress_plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack-no-longer-supported/ The good news http://www.madmouse.com/blog/wordpr...n-one-seo-pack-is-still-alive-and-doing-well/
There is a new SEO plugin called Platinum SEO. It offers all the features of All in One SEO plugin plus more...
Hey guys, Platinum SEO is very cool with many many SEO options...and they are all options that you can use wisely...and i tried and tested it on a blog that had all in one seo... platinum seo works perfect and it infact imports all the setting iny my all in one seo...For the newer seo options platinum seo does a default setting...very cool plugin indeed... the guy is very respectful... and he also runs a charity i believe...he does this for funding the charity is what i heard from him...but he does not charge you anything and says he will accept whatever people offer as he in for a social cause... it is time to migrate guys platinum seo is the way to go..and it is very easy to migrate from all in one seo...nothing to be done from our side...he is also putting up links to donators on the page... http://techblissonline.com/platinum-seo-pack/ and do you know who am I? i am the admin of techblissonline.com/
Yeah, Platinum SEO did transfer over all my current All-in-one SEO settings. However, I've been seeing people constantly reporting a few bugs about it. I suggest that since AIO SEO works with WP 2.5.1 right now, you wait a while until the PSEO is mostly ironed out and then think about porting over. Or, you can stay with AIO.
Its a shame.. it really was doing a fantastic job.. Will have to check out the platinum seo! Looks good on the post, but I'm just lazy when it comes to changing such an important plugin.
godsofchaos, all-in-one-seo has been taken over, its still alive. On a new blog im going to give Platinum SEO a try though, always good to be experimental, and deserves a try.
A great deal of the code of this plugin has basically been copied from my robots meta plugin. Since you haven't attributed that code, indyank, you're now officially an asshole
Platinum SEO rolls up the functionality of several plugins, so based on that I'd say it is better (haven't actually tried it yet, though).
I think the best is to use your own seo tactics but all-in-one seoa has come to an end. I used to use it but now I just do my seo by myself...
