i installed "all in one seo pack plugin" for wordpres.

the default there is to make the categories and archive not index by google.

i would like to know if it`s good or not. it can prevent duplicate content on my site but still i think that in this way lots of my pages will not be indexed.

so how should i configured this?

yes, you are right. you should use noindex for categories and archive

as it will give duplicate content as well as sometimes category are not rich with targeted keywords

don't worry, your content will be on posts form also pages will be index

u can use robot.txt to gain more control over that

I do not use noindex for cats and archives for better site indexation. Imo canonical URLs should handle duplicate content issues if any.
