I noticed that MSN and Yahoo provide different serps depending on if something is all caps versus all lowercase. Has anyone done anything with this? Is there any usefulness to this information? Google seems to return the same results regardless of searching for: WIDGETS or widgets MSN and Yahoo not so much.
I thought Google had always been "non case sensitive"; furhter, I'd think all engines should be, but I guess I could see a case in the instance of abbreviations, acronyms, etc where a differentiation could, or maybe should, exist.
Yeah my preference would be non case sensitive for all of them. Not sure why Yahoo and MSN are not.. I guess it is probably because of the things you listed, but I would rather they handle exceptions than creating different serps for capitalization. I had only checked all-or-nothing before, but I just tried a mixed cap keyword in MSN and it gives different results for every combination I tried. Can't say that makes much sense at all. widget, WIDGET, wIdGet are all different.
