http://www.google.com/contact/index.html (PR9) I know this is probably an extreme example, but try searching for "link:www.google.com/contact/index.html" in Google and you will see that there are only 37 backlinks to this page. This is just a bit of encouragement (and proof) for the guys here aiming to achieve a specific PR for their sites that it's not about quantity of back links but quality (read PR) of backlinks. It's possible (in theory) to achieve any PR if you can get "1 link from a PR+1" site. i.e. for a PR6 all you need (in theory) is one PR7 link. Any thoughts about this?
Google's "links:" is crap. http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=li...Search&fr=FP-tab-web-t&toggle=1&cop=&ei=UTF-8 Besides.. this is part of google's site. Why wouldn't google give itself a PR 9?
Well, I don't think they have "given themselves" a PR9. All it would need is one link from www.google.com (PR10) and voila!
As I mentioned else where. Google wouldnt manufactor their own PR or rankings. They have way too much at stake. Plus they have lots of PR10 pages, it would be natural for most of their pages to be very high PR. Brad
Um, IRS? Oh, I know .... Google? Care to share the URL (I don't think you will, but I had to ask anyway)
Well google just shows a % of the links... I would suggest to use MSN or Yahoo! search to find the links to your websites... IMO, it's just about quality and not quantity... if you have a link from pr7 then it's far better that having 1000's pr1 sites. There arises one more problem, the pr sent to you by a site having pr7 having 10outbound links then the pr directed by that site to yours is just 0.7 close to 1 and if a pr1 site has only 2 outbound then it sends 0.5... well it's a complete mathematical phenomenon if you get few of those sites then you may have a good pr to your site... Take care Manish
