All about me, me, me :) and my little project

Glad to be joining tenericforums! Here I am looking to find out about the new businesses that others are starting, and the challenges associated with that. Hope to share business related experiences and learn from others.

Coming from a large IT multinational, I have a lot of marketing, product placement, and advertising experience. Currently I am working on a project of my own, together with 3 other colleagues. Probably as many do, we saw that a web based business offers many untapped areas, and it took us a while to come up with the idea and draw up the concept for our online edifice. The idea and the concept are both based on personal experiences and frustrations -- all in the aim to improve and simplify.

Our site DealsLocally.com just launched, and we are seeing steady growth in popularity. In essence, we offer advertising space under the following categories: shops, restaurants, hotels, entertainment, and services. The caveat is that all advertisements are for money saving deals, special offers, discounts, and bargains. Thus it becomes a central portal to find out all the money saving deals in any UK locality. We aim to cater for local businesses as oppose to purely online enterprises.

Currently we are at the SEO, Advertising, Partnering stage and thus I hope to gain contacts, and learn from others here at tenericforums.
