    It ranks at 10 in Google for "alive directory"... higher than the original one. :mad:.

    Did you notice... alivedirectory.com is a sponsor for alivelinkdirectory.com.

    Maybe the owner (alivelinkdirectory.com) added it himself. :p.

    Just noticed that my directorytycoon.com ranked 2nd place since long time for keyword 'premium paid directory' and chris's premiumdir.com at 1st place there but now both are not there even in 10 and 20.

    I think we have to just wait and watch :rolleyes: Everything get back to normal soon.

    If that is the case, then it should happen with sites other than directories too.

    Anyone seeing similar trends in other sites?

    I meant sites other than directories. If it is a problem with Google's algorithm then all sites should be similarly affected - not just directories.

    not all directories are effected, but most of them are, other sites don't get effected easily as the number of out going links are less on general website!

    i don't think google has removed the cache of dmoz on purpose! so i think all this is just a mistake in there algo, hopefully:)

    I really don't think it has anything to do with outgoing links.

    With 4 million+ posts and an average 2 signatures per post, DP has 8 million+ outgoing links - many of them to banned, adult, gambling sites etc.

    If this was the case, sites like DP would have been trashed.

    BTW, DMOZ's cache is still there.

    I think it will be OK (coming from my limited experience)

    The same thing happened searching for my own directory name and then it came back on top after a day or 2. This is the second time this has happened to me during my 7 month directory biz.

    Isn't it a well exploited myth that google ranking algo is 'stable'?

    Now its not stable. :=|

    Have'nt seen any client sites affected by this yet.

    I'm not sure if I can call this one a set back or not, normally a site will suffer miner set backs by disappearing from the serps all together for their main keywords and then come back in a few days. But with so many sites taking a big drop at the same time this appears to be a little different, it may be some form of wake up call to the directory market.
