Yeah freedom finally with PR gone, and death for google, so i doubt google will ever get rid of PR, without it webmasters will not care about google no more. :p

    HOPEFULLY :)

I too lost some keywords that I was rank top 5 in for a bit some time.

"phpld tutorial" - gone, "phpld category dumps" - gone.

if i am not wrong! then, the price per year that you are talking about is actually the permanant link price! http://www.alivedirectory.com/submit.php
the yearly price is much less:)
    regards,
    uttoransen!

All kinds of sites are getting stuck in Google's spam filters and penalized these days, for all kinds of reasons, and sometimes no reason at all because the filters are flawed.

Spam filter are good and not effection webmasters, only sppamer are effected by them, the real problem is PR and algo changes, I think this system of pr was working fine :)

    zorg links
    beacon directory
    big web links
    cdh now
    blaze bidding
    alive directory
    forplex directory
    noble directory
    directory dump

all of them no longer rank 1 for their own site. Its like we have been punished for something like what happened to john chow.

I also no longer rank high for bidding directory and bidding web directory. Neither does Chris or Rob who used to out rank me. Chetan said alive directory is no longer #3 for web directory.

Perhaps a google employee got drunk and thought "gah, im gonna bitch slap all those web directories" or perhaps google thought we did something wrong

and no, its nothing to do with PR or paid links. The paid links we have would just have no effect, even the title and H1 tags on our pages would make us appear on the first page.

This is in the last 24 hours, Zorg was no.4 for bidding directory last night. I don't rank highly for my own names either and have gone from page 1 and 2 to page 7 for uk web directory and uk directory respectively :(
