you joined DP in Jan 2006,but I see very very few posts by you?(Those posts are worth for nothing) Are you here to simply watch us?
oddly, alivelinkdirectory.com is in the number one spot for "alive directory", and this thread is in the number two spot. I don't think the owner of alivelinkdirectory and alivedirectory are the same, I am taking this assumption from the fact that alivelinkdirectory has sponsored links in the footer and the owner of alivedirectory probably wouldn't do that.
Its #41 right now in .com http://www.google.com/search?q=Alive+Directory&hl=en&safe=off&start=40&sa=N And it still holds its authority status.. showing a +ve sign of it coming back in serps
Different here even using your link ! 41 is a link to it, but not the original - but that might be to do with location of the searcher ? ?
Said tongue in cheek of course. Do you still honestly believe that this poor imitation of a resource ranks alongside Yahoo in Googles eyes?
Well they will definitely manually mess with the results in order to send a message. remember http://blogoscoped.com/archive/2006-02-04-n60.html ?
Whilst it hurts us rather than the bigger sites which if they are to be believed can take all the punches, this is the best thing that Google could have done. Strong medicine is always difficult to swallow and I personally hope that this is just a beginning and that they bury sites like Alive. Where are these guys? Why are they not going public and admitting that there is a need to clean up?
That does NOT indicate authority status. Those are what Google calls "sitelinks". Nothing to do with authority status. Please stop proagating this myth. Workshop has it right. Yes. You and your bidding directory buddies and other directory owners who have used Google gaming strategies like link buying and selling and site interlinking are being punished for operating outside Google's guidelines, just like BMW in the cited story. I agree wholeheartedly. The fact that Google takes action against gray- and black-hat "SEO" (sic) is a good thing for everyone - except of course those webmasters and directory owners who were guilty of these practices.
Understood it now Now those site links are also gone, and the site is not where it was when i last posted!
