yeah ... i submitted to aviva before hands but regretting i shud've submitted at alive at the same time. ah well
Right timing for me. Submitted last week. Looking forward for your NO.8 Chris. Some people will be catching up again on the 8 if that is the case.
There is an ongoing campaign for Alive in this forum. the recent thread is the silliest If it's such a good directory, you shouldn't be making all that noise Sorry for sounding a bit negative Regards
I wonder if this has anything to do with the recent thread about the meaning of permanent listings? I mean, there was pretty much a consensus that there's no such thing as a permanent directory listing.
The definition and value of Authority in Google is still vague. Some forums such as studentroom can also be considered as authority forums, but they are just forums.
I just wanted to confirm what CReed and an0n said previously, that this change does not affect listings added prior to the change. I appreciate all of those early submissions - they are what helped build Aviva to what it is today - thanks!
not only our submissions jeff, its your promotion and your hard work which makes it a good directory and that makes us submit to it.
I think no. Alive and Aviva can charge yearly, but me? Not at this time. I will think about it after 2008 Personally, I would like to pay for permanent listings
Chris and Jeff are getting alive and aviva into the top web directories available on the internet thumbs up! These policies apply also to other directories like botw, yahoo and business. This is beyond the standard web directories (as too many are nowadays), a listing in these directories is more like on the spot advertising. When advertising on a billboard you also pay for a certain period of time, the same goes for the big guys in the directory world. Again, well done and good luck!
There's nothing wrong with this pricing change. As WhatiFind said, directories are like one of many online marketing venues for advertisers, and it makes sense to charge listings for a certain period of time. This is especially true for featured listings, which get additional exposure. But this pricing change should be accompanied by directory owners' effort to proactively add quality Internet resources to their directory. Otherwise, user/visitor's experience of the directory may diminish by the fact that paid listings of quality sites will be thrown out of the directory when they decide not to renew.
he said proactively add quality Internet resources they don't have to be authoritative sites, just quality resources.
http://www.avivadirectory.com/index.php?list=latest I think he has been taking this idea to heart. I think it is important to add quality listings with no time limit.
