I was wondering if there is an algorithm for ranking images (like what Google is doing?) I mean, how will Google know that an image is better than another image? I think it's a viable source of traffic for me if I get to be number 1 on images. thanks.
It seams the sites that are on top of the images are totally different than the sites that come up in the standard results. I'd like to hear more about this algorithm as well. Brandon
This would be a good topic, but remember to think about how valuable it'd be to be ranked in the image search. While it would get you a little bit of traffic, most people who use Google Image search are just harvesting images. I know from experience however that sometimes if a site is good enough, it may grab my attention. -Brian Renner entrepreneur7
Yes they are it's important - the image quality . do a search and you see that images having a big size are ranked first, and at the end you will always find shity 100x50 pixels images - the alt TAGs! Write keywords for your imags like <img src="my-girl-friend.jpg" ALT="This slut it's my girl friend"> - the pagerank of the page where the images are
I don't really agree with this.. then what's the difference between two images of the same size and name and alt tags but are different images? and how will it be ranked? don't tell me that the other pic is better because you better have a criteria for saying it is really better..
You should name the image with the keyword you are targeting. Also, the keyword must appear on the page of the image.
yes i know all that, but what I'm asking is, is there an algo for the results of an image search in Google? I'm guessing there is one?
I have been getting some decent traffic from the image search. I am interested to know how the images are ranked too.
