This is single major thing about Msn that drves me crazy. The serps change almost every other day, by a few spots. Almost a daily mini serp update for msn.

It's not just the SERPS. Pages indexed for my 2 biggest sites dropped to 2 and 3 pages.

I'm talking about drops by 50-100 spots. I hope it's just some flux...

I drop out of serps completly, come back, then drop 10 and go up 20, every single day :)

It's normal, even between updates, altough everything should be stable.

Do you check your stats, every time, on the same DC ?

If not, it's really nothing to worry :)

we've been checking our stats regularily. last week we were #1 and #2 for some terms that are nowhere to be found in the serps this week. some other terms have dropped more than 200 spots and there's a major overall drop. this is checking from the same datacenter and we've been relatively stable for a long time with some of these rankings that have recently dropped dramatically.

I don't find any major changes expect a small variation in results.

yes but give it a couple days or two and it will go crazy again. It just the Msn operates right now.

That just seems to be the way they work. Ever since they integrated the neural network, the SERPs at MSN fluctuate wildly from day to day.

Page counts with the site: command are also extremely erratic. One day MSN will have all your pages in their index, next day they'll have 5 and a week later they'll all be back.

So no, you're probably just seeing the day-to-day operation of the engine.

I see fluctuations in MSN every day. Makes it hard to optimise for MSN. I guess the best option is to leave it be and only optimise for Google.

I do well with MSN, but every few weeks traffic drops and then a few days later traffic and comes.
