    Everybody talk about Alexa.com
    Last month, I tried it. I put my website on it and click:
    1,103,000 :eek:
    I just click again today:
    869,768 :confused:

    What's the difference? Is it bad or good?

    It has been said for ecommerce sites ( I saw some PPT desk from SEO Shows) that Alexa ranking can correlate directly to revenue. This is probably true for higher traffic sites.

    It also good to keep track of competitors and seasonality.

    @codythebest

    Alexa only knows that people come to your site if they have their Alexa Toolbars installed (for Internet Explorer) or alternativelly for for Mozilla users searchStatus from http://www.quirk.biz/searchstatus/ .

    Otherwise it has no way of knowing who visited your site, so there might be a case that your Alexa # goes down and actually your site statistics show less traffic from last period. In this case your visitors with Alexa Toolbar (or alternative) Enabled has gone up but overall your traffic has lowered !!!!

    Makes sense ?

    If you ask me Alexa Ranking is something Overvalued in the SEO field.

    Just think of this. you can get your site from n/a Alexa # to maybe less than one million in 3-4 months just by enabling your Alexa Toolbar and visiting your site once a day.
