Alexa toolbar for Vista

I am using Vista and was really disappointed to know that Alexa toolbar doesn't work with Vista as yet .

Could anyone tell me an alternate for that? An IE add-on that could show Alexa rank?

PS: Don't want to use FireFox.

 

There's no IE7 add on to show alexa ranking. The only option is to either use firefox or wait until alexa is ready for vista.

 

I have a vista machine and the toolbar works as good on FF as it does on an XP machine

 

I don't think vista is the problem, I have it too but alexa toolbar on firefox doesn't work. I think it's because of symantec endpoint protection I have, it always tells me when trying to have alexa ranking an error message.

Any ideas how to desactivate this ?

 

Have the same problem, but if you don't like FF than you can only be patient till it works for IE.

Use IE7pro tool bar, it shows alexa and also have many other useful function.

just get on to the website. it's much easier. never like to install other toolbar except google toolbar.

 

it works good on my IE and Vista. Was it installed properly on your pc?

 

I couldn't even download the toolbar. If you've running IE on Windows Vista, go to http://www.alexa.com/site/download it shows following message:

"The toolbar currently does not work with Windows Vista. We are working on a fix and hope to release it soon. Sorry for the inconvenience!"

Why would you want to install spyware on your system? Be thankful alexa does not run on vista.

 

it works fine on my vista on FF as well as IE

 

the best way is forgettin alexa toolbar.Also alexa change its ranking policies, so toolbar effects %5-6 i measure.

 

Try ALexa Sparky plugin for firefox.

 

I don't prefer Vista, so no question for me to use alexa on Vista

Windows defender suspects alexa toolbar as a high risk Trojan and shows high risk warning. We all know alexa collects information which pages a user visits. Although alexa works like a Trojan but it only collects information to calculate page rankings and depending on user visits it gives alexa ranks to a webpage. Alexa’s attempt is certainly a good thing as we come to know which websites are most popular and we all try to increase our alexa ranking. But don’t know why Microsoft is angry on alexa!
