Alexa Toolbar for Firefox

Great ... Installed it now .. Nice tool But it doesnt work with all versions of FireFox

 

I don't like Alexa and couple of other social bookmarking toolbars, they keep spying on me. I'll pass too

Good News. New version of toolbar also works with Firefox 2.0.0.5

 

If the toolbar screwes your firefox and you can't start it after the installation, don't think of reinstalling firefox. You could start FF in safe mode by going to start menu/all programs (or just programs)/mozilla firefox/start firefox in safe mode (or something like that). It happened to me. I couldn't start firefox after the installation of this toolbar, and the only solution was to uninstall it. I prefer SearchStatus as my FF seo widget.

Just to add on with Mong, here are some of its new features-

I agree, I've used searchstatus for a while and it tells me everything I need. Don't really see the need for a toolbar when you have a much more compact (and useful) extension.

 

i have installed it and i don't see a problem. you install Google toolbar and we know Google collects informations not just about the sites we visit but also the emails we read - gmail .
Alexa is a amazon company ... what i feel is the information they collect is being used to give you a better amazon experience , if anything . I am sure they would not be pushing your info to some other competitors .
how is a toolbar ( and i mean only alexa or google ) different from a Browser addon like Search Status ? In both cases u are allowing something to sit on your browser

 

I think I am going to give it a shot. I could use a boost in my ranking as well.

BTW: Does anybody have it working on FF 2.0.0.4? Because it doesn't seem to work and FF doesn't start at all after installing.

 

Thanks for info. Before I used searchstatus extension. But Alexa advice now Sparky. I will try it.

 

I use the searchstatus addon for firefox - and love it. i will never use anything else and i will highly recomend this one.

 

there are lots of addon for FF toolbar, i never user alexa.
