Alexa ranking ????

I believe that there is some validity in some rankings, but it´s so easy to manipulate, it cannot be taken as an indicator for traffic.

 

I wrote a brief article a few months ago discussing what Alexa does and the problems with it. Like others said, Alexa is not very reliable for many sites. If you feel like it, you can read the article, Alexa traffic rank: what it is and why you should care (or not).

Over 100k, The rankings are utterly useless. They make better sense under 50,000.

Also, they seem to be losing in popularity as there are tons of new sites that have far better traffic info.

It help to know the traffic for your site? Im still new with the use of alexa, i want to know if how can i identify if the site is higher or lower traffic? Can you explain me the detail

Alexa means nothing.

It makes me laugh when people promote their site on the stats from Alexa.

If you get under 1,000 then there's some truth in your site generates good traffic.

 

Its true that Alexa can be manipulated, if you read the article below it will show you ways to do it for free. It is not true that your Alexa rank does not matter. You should not base your information solely on Alexa for your actual rank. The reason that it is important, is that it can help your pages rank better for the search engines, if your in the top 100,000 you can get more detailed information and statistics, also there are things like installing a widget that will tell you your true traffic rank (good or bad). The widget does not require users to have an Alexa toolbar (which is the major fault of Alexa). The toolbar is the way that most people use to "game" the system. so its means if you want to increase your alexa rank you must be social and have lot of friends using alexa bar

we on web evaluate site by PR or alexa rank, is there any other service or tool to evaluate site

u can add ur website to alexa, or by checking alexa status

 

I don't know... it's just another number that I don't pay much attention to.

Basically, Alexa is only good for saying I have this much alexa rank, when selling links

now pageranks, that is something that is worth it more

 

Does anybody have an idea how we can measure our traffic?

 

Use Google Analytics or any one of the myriad of alternatives.
