Alexa Ranking

I do not think it is too important what rank you are but your ranks are better than mine by miles atm.

I have also heard that the toolbar is the only way hits get counted but i can not confirm that

As i said in a post earlier as long as you are happy with your traffic thats all that matters really who really cares about ranks? they can always be cheated anyway.

 

Ignore Alexa rank issue and try to focus on creating a valuable website, as your traffic increases so does your alexa rank improves.

 

It's so interesting to see these posts pop up over and over about rankings. The only rank that I truly think is important is your SEARCH ENGINE RANKING. Alexa does not generally bring you traffic unless people are searching for specific types of sites through them, and yours happens to appear in the results. I wouldn't say this happens too often either. Unless you are aiming to tap into a specific revenue source that depends on your Alexa rank, I wouldn't waste my time worrying about it.

 

How important is Alexa ranking to bring advertisers to advertise on our websites ?

 

If I were you, I wouldn't worry too much about alexa but rather focus more on you site's content, good content will mean good traffic and will result to a possible high ranking, be it SERP, PR or Alexa. Alexa ranking is only supericial, it does not add weight to your site and as you've mentioned earlier you should not focus on alexa if you are not planning to sell ads.

 

Alexa is a great tool to measure certain aspects of a website and it's history however it's your analytics that really matter, the quality of your content and of course your overall income.

I know quite a few marketers look at the Alexa rank when searching for sites to advertise on. I guess it is an easy way for them to get an "idea" of how busy a site is.

Once you get in the 100,000s and lower your chances of marketers approaching you increase significantly. This is from experience and not just hearsay as I have seen this happen in several different niches.

 

you can use alexa widget for better ranking but first read this post about some problems widgets can causeDon’t use alexa widget on your website

alexa ranking is not very relevant because it tracks visits from people who have their toolbar installed
yes, it is good for entertainment purposes
even PR doesn't mean everything
concentrate on targeted traffic and you're fine

 

R u sure installing alexa toolbar will increase the alexa rank of my website ?

 

if you keep accessing it from different ips it will probably increase it however this action takes time and it is pretty useless...

 

are you talking about ALEXA ranking or alexa toolbar ? which one is uselesS?

 

the ranking itself. go for google toolbar if you want a toolbar. better concentrate on targeted visitors who don't really have to have alexa toolbar installed

mines 1.4million without toolbar 2 months old

 

we know, there is no use of alexa ranking in terms of site ranking because it use there own database.
Buy so many guys don't know how alexa's ranking is useful for a site. They know only one thing if alexa ranking is good than you are getting good traffic.
