Alexa Ranking From 336K Drops to 1 Million

Yesterday I check my alexa ranking is 336K but today it drops to 1 million. WTF? Visitors to my website is increasing day by day so I wondering why Alexa change the ranking just in one day?

I also find its weird when one of my website getting daily UV of 2000 but rank lower than my other site which getting only daily 1000 UV. Alexa is f***ing weird.

If you have 2000 unique visitors to your site than you must be ranking in the top 100 K. my site receives only 300 UV's and it still ranks 123K . Check out if you are really getting those visitors or not.

 

Alexa sucks...just remove alexa(toolbar/sparky)
and see where your traffic goes. Alexa
measures traffic based on stats of toolbar and sparky.

 

I suspect that they recently changed their algorithm because I observed drastic changes in my Alexa rankings. A website was climbing in Alexa day by day and since the recent update it's going downhill even though the traffic is rising.

 

ours always seem to hover around the 600k mark , has been as high as 511k ( woohoo ) , but overall pretty stable for us.

 

My alexa ranking went to crap......when I switched from FF/Sparky to Google Chrome. (no toolbar with Chrome)

 

"Webmaster related niche" websites have higher alexa ranking since most of the webmasters coming to that sites will definitely have alexa toolbar installed.

This is the main reason why a celebrity site having more than 10k/day visitors have 200k rank and a webmaster site having just above 500/day visitors have alexa rank below 100k.

 

Lol, same thing with me. Visitors are increasing and rank is going down.

 

dude I get about 15k UV a day and im at 105k, I was at 29k !! Now thats a drastic drop

its because I uninstalled my alexa toolbar, they changed their algorithm & havent updated in two months before the most recent two updates

they need to lay off the crack and purple spiked dildos and do this shit right

 

That may be the ranking you're getting, but I don't believe that's standardized at all, we were about 98k Alex when we had 10-20k UV per day. Alexa really isn't about how much traffic you have, it's about how much of your traffic has the Alexa toolbar. If your Alexa is going down, it just means there are less viewers you have that have the toolbar installed, it's kind of hit and miss until you get going on the bigger sites, until about 50k Alexa I haven't seen any overly reliable bits of data, especially when things get skewed like Digital Point. It shows 1,433 Alexa, which is equivalent to a couple clients I have who are in the 500k+ UV range, and while DP is pretty large, it's just got a lot of webmasters who frequent it (duh).

But some advertisers rely on Alexa data. My post-to-blog offers drop significantly just because Alexa getting bitchy.

I guess it just all depends on your site not really traffic. One of my Websites 5 days after I created it Alexa was 400k.

 

alexa is now updating frequently...my alexa is now becoming much better.

Alexa has updated twice this week and the latest update was done today.

 

My Alexa slow increase and until now need more traffic

 

My blog alexa rank is 184k, But I have a feeling its going down to 300k+ by next update based on my site traffic for this month..

The alexa ranking is not accurate, it same happen to me. Seem it like website more
I have a website with same traffic as my blog, my website rank 25k but my blog rank 900k.
Big different!!!!
