Alexa ranking dropping on DigitalPoint

    I was recommended here by an SEO person I respect, but I noticed that the Alexa rank has dropped suddenly since January 2013.

    I'm interested to know how people are finding the marketplace in particular compared to last year before the drop in traffic.

    Is the quality improvement outweighing the lesser quantity? Please let me know.

    Likely as a load of idiots using the Alexa toolbar no longer use the site perhaps LOL

    So?? It is just Alexa Rank...Rules has been changed, spammers are away, it is already been discussed million times..

    Well, as mainly spamtards use the toolbar, quality has gone up a lot. Alexa does not relate to traffic. Shawn has already made a few posts about DP's traffic (such as an increase for its key demographics) since the site changes. I remember that he highlighted BST improvements too (higher value sales and similar, as far as I remember). So, I wouldn't worry, mate.

    Thanks Sarah - I felt it was a bit 'techie' for General Chat, but feel free to move it over.

    I was specifically interested in it had affected the marketplace for sellers & buyers, because yes I agree sheer numbers, particularly Alexa numbers are irrelevant.

    `Yeah its not that impotent - but i do have it installed as sometimes i like to see a websites rank when i visit it
