Alexa ranking confuse me

Hi,
I see many website has very poor alexa ranking and still they claim that they are getting more visitors and earning more from that website.If alexa ranking is accurate or nearly close why they are showing low rank then.I cannot understand.

 

Alexa is unreliable and outdated. Do not judge your traffic through alexa. It will not display an accurate daily traffic analysis. It is based on a 3 month period which is easily influenced.

 

ya i agree with ya i have 1400 a day according to google analytics and only been up a little over a month and alexa has me at 3,019,000 so who knows what they go buy

 

alexa ranking system is good if your site all visitor have that alexa tool bar

but it used to some what ok measure

 

Yes, don't pay attention to your Alexa. I never care about my alexa rank at all.

It's not relevant for current traffic rank

 

Alexa is not the Holy Grail but if used with other indicators it can give you a good barometer on how your site/s are doing but should never be used just by its self.I have one site that is going near the magic 100k mark so this inspire's me that we are doing things right.Thats my take on it it anyway

 

I don't know who is still looking alexa ranking, 'it's so last week'

 

if you wants to measures your visitors then you should have to used Google analytic Alexa didn't give you the perfect result.

 

Alexa is really unuseful

Alexa Rank only consists of visitors who have the Alexa Rank addon installed I think... I do think it has some use though it isn't really that accurate as others here have said.

 

Alexa ranks sites only from the people who installed their toolbar on their computer. Not everyone has the toolbar so what Alexa reports may be inaccurate.

 

Obviously Alexa's numbers aren't accurate. Alexa's numbers are just good for estimation - for example, before you buy traffic or ad space from certain websites, you can base the Alexa numbers to predict the traffic volume. But it's not absolutely accurate. Unfortunately without a more accurate "traffic estimator" that covers a wide enough range of traffic sources, we are still much reliant on Alexa.

 

Alexa ranking is not accurate. I would measure website success in sales and not visitors.

 

Yes it is possible. Please don't relate alex ranking to site traffic because both are different things.
