Hi Everyone, As all you know Alexa depends upon traffic but what happen now with my sites..... I have been working on a website on which i got the improvement in traffic and its Alexa also increase and reach Upto somewhere 80000. but now its traffic has gone double now to its previous but the Alexa has gone down 100999... does Alexa really depend on traffic Reply please what is this reason.........(website in my signatures) Regarda Showkat Ahmad
Yeah, Alexa depends upon traffic. But it's totally pointless to focus on this one because it is not that accurate when it comes to giving information about the amount of traffic that your site is receiving. It will only give you the output based on its computation. I suggest you to use Google analytics. This tool works better than Alexa in giving information about traffic.
Yes, alexa rank depends on how much traffic your site is getting. It's not depend only your site traffic, I mean others site is getting better traffic from yours, that's the fact. But don't take panic, as I think most of the sites are buying huge scam traffic, that's why your rank downgrade. Keep getting more SEO traffic & your site will go much better. Thanks.
Hi eurekapsycrille, I think you haven't understand my question properly, i am getting now traffic double than which i was getting before when my Alexa was 80k and it deeps to 1 lakh does it show me the reverse effect i am using analytic from long before etc
Yes, Alexa ranking depend on your website traffic. If your Alexa has been reached 80k instead 1lakh it means your website is going down. In simple words Alexa ranking less this is good for your if high its harmful for your website.

This is happening because Alexa rank is inversely proportional to Alexa traffic on the website. Rank 1 = Lots of traffic Rank 100 = Traffic less than website with rank 1
Hey, don't get worried as alexa collects the data from only those web users who has installed alexa toolbar and it is obvious that only techies might be known about alexa toolbar so visits from users who has never installed such toolbar will not be considered for ranking purpose. So might be a situation if your end users are not using such a toolbar their visits may be neglected by alexa and your ranking may be soon as down.
Alexa rank is not very relevant for website traffic. For example I saw website with 20k traffic daily that is 9.000 Alexa Rank. Other website has 50k daily traffic and got only 25.000 alexa rank.
Alexa ranks can go down if your traffic isnt good but they also will go down if there is no activity on the site
