Is there any API or a tool that takes my site name as input and returns the Alexa ranking and Google page rank ? I know alexa gives the widget with their link bank but I just want to grab the rank without their widget. I am willing to link back to the alexa site but I just want the rank/number without the widget
Just use the seo quake extensions for firefox and it will be on your toolbar at all times. I believe it's available for explorer.
alexa rank is not at all related to pagerank. Even if you have fake traffic, the alexa rank will improve, however, google pagerank is efficient, it will not allow any fake ranks.
You can use Alexa toolbar or Alexa script embedded on the site itself. Alternatively, SeoQuake plug in
The alexarank is a strange think - i've went from aprox' 18 mill to 1 mill just by installing there FF Bar og reloading my site
why alexa ranking so important? LOL.. you install alexa toolbar, you install auto refresh firefox plugin and set to 15 secs, you load your site and leave your computer open, after a few months, your rank has increased. and why PR so important? if u wanna sell links, yes, it could help, otherwise, I see many PR0 sites SERPs better than PR4-5-6 sites. because we think about main page, but never though about sub-pages, as long as your site is indexed and use keywords well, you still good make pretty pennies. Just try to have great content on your site and be informative, you will get backlinks little by little. Consequently, you will get good PR in the future. just build the links, content and information, everything will come along.. just my 2 cents
offtopic but you must have hard time logging in with a username like that... you would have to copy and paste those characters (Å & Æ’) every time from somewhere. For OP, probably SEO Quake bar etc.. those things somehow Query Alexa and display the rank. So its probably possible no doubt.
it is offtopic, plugins for firefox is not related to the original post. Let's come back to Alexa ranking and Google PR.
I second littlebobek's suggestion. If you want this information in an extension that is easy to use then I would go with Search Status. A couple things to keep in mind however...Alexa is kind of obtrusive on your machine about grabbing data about your search habits and also Alexa data is not really valid (per their own terms) if you have less than 1k uniques per month. Also, that search status extension will give you other valuable data like backlinks and # of indexed pages on the big 3 so it's pretty cool.
