    Alexa rank is based on the amount of traffic recorded from users that have the Alexa toolbar installed over a period of three months. This traffic is based on such parameters as reach and page views.

    No there is no relation between Alexa rank and Google+. Alexa rank is a web analytic company which powered by Amazon on the other hand Google+ is a social networking site managed by Google Inc.

    Alexa is an estimation of your traffic in comparison to other websites. Smaller Ranks are better. And there is no relation between G+ and Alexa. Alexa is really rough an its not precise.

With a free account, Alexa tells you how much traffic is coming into your site. A paid account on Alexa will give your a further analysis of how your site is doing. There is also another plugin called the "Moz" bar, which you can find at moz.com/tools/seo-toolbar. Moz helps you identify a site's page rank and domain authority.
