    Some said Alexa is useless, not really sure how far true it is..IMO the Alexa only measurement traffic site only..correct me if I'm wrong :)

    Alexa all depends on the number of links you have and the amount of traffic you get. It also depends on the Alexa toolbar so suppose if you have a webmaster tips related site then your traffic will be mostly bloggers and webmasters who have alexa toolbar installed which will help your Alexa rank increase automatically.

    Long term goal should be focused on developing great content.
    Write articles that target Alexa toolbar users (typically webmasters) and distribute the articles on webmaster forums and social bookmarking sites (digg.com, etc).
    Participate in webmaster forums and use your site as your signature.

    Besides those standard methods I don't know any quick ways of increasing Alexa rank.

    That is the truth. I don't put much reliance on Alexa or Google analytics..the only true judge of how much traffic your website receives will be seen in cpanel.

    Basically an alexa ranking is not important. having a high or low alexa ranking does not help a site one bit, unless you want to use it to impress people who are impressed by this sort of thing, but do not understand it.
