alexa rank is mainly purely off of traffic to your site. The more traffic to your site, the higher your ranking.

I got my alexa ranking down too about 200k in the world but I found it hard to hold that spot for more than 3 days I'm now around 400k without doing too much work. Twitter and craigslist is what I used.
